It was a pleasure to present to about 50 educators at the Trauma-Informed Schools Institute in Rochester yesterday! More and more schools and communities across the country are adopting a trauma-informed approach, allowing them to better respond to the needs of their students struggling both in and outside of the classroom because of adversity in their lives. Yesterday was not just about trauma. It wasn't just about adversity. It was about wrapping supports around those who need them most. It was about building resilience. It was about learning how to accept the things we cannot change so we can focus our time and energy on the things we can.
