Writing Goals

In addition to more long term goals, all REACH Stewartville students write 4 short term goals every week. These short term goals are intended to support their long term goals. 1. Academic goals are specific and measurable actions to be done that week. 2. Personal goals include something they would like to do for themselves and makes them happy. 3. Family goals should include around how they will contribute to family. This can be doing a chore or have to do with spending time together. 4. Character goals revolve around the character traits of gratitude, compassion, acceptance, meaning, forgiveness, celebration, reflection, attitude, perseverance, honesty, integrity, generosity, etc. We believe that academic goals are important, but understand that other areas of our students' lives are equally as important to their overall success. Writing goals in each of these 4 areas and evaluating progress at the end of the week creates accountability and increases the chances of success in these areas. https://www.kqed.org/mindshift/41110/
