It's My Fault

Thank you Principal Steve Gibbs for coming to the REACH Room today to speak to our classes about the life-lessons we can learn from sports.  Blair Walsh's response to his missed field goal yesterday was one that we should all be proud to see.  Many others have already started the finger-pointing, some at him, some at the center, the holder, and others even at the running-back from the prior play.  Blair makes it clear that the missed field goal is his responsibility and that he accepts that.  He does NOT blame anyone else, and this is SO refreshing to hear from a professional athlete.  He tells the press that, although he has been very consistent so far this season, he will do everything in his power to get even better.  These are all reasons why our children should look up to good athletes, not for their wealth and popularity, but for the way they treat others and the way they carry themselves in the face of adversity.  All of these lessons translate perfectly into the world of a student.  Thank you again Steve Gibbs for coming into our classroom to share this lessons with REACH.
