Finite Time

Today in REACH we discussed the word "finite" and how it relates to time we have in our lives to do the things we want and need to.

In middle school I had no idea that my grandparents would only be alive another 6 years or so.  You might think that is a lot of time, but when you consider that I only got to see them about twice a year, it really is not.  12 more times to greet them, visit, enjoy their company, and think about them on our way home.  12 times.  Not nearly enough.

We spend so much time just waiting for important events to happen that we forget to enjoy the journey along the way.  It is important for all of us to realize that the time we have with others and in school is important, that we shouldn't waste any of it by being lazy or procrastinating.  We need to raise our level of importance for the important things that have become everyday. Now.  Now is the time to start working hard and enjoy others in our lives.  Now is the time to let go of excuses.  Now is the time to make changes and move forward.  Now is the time to make ourselves better.  If not now, when?  If we wait, it might just be too late.

We came up with lots of way to relate this to school and the limited time we have to learn and prove ourselves.
